WordPress theme installation fails with error - The package could not installed

I am trying to install one commercial theme but I received the following error:

Theme installation fails with error "The package could not installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet."

-----------------

I am trying to install it from WordPress admin area. How can I fix this?

Hello Chris,

This can happen if you have uploaded wrong theme file. Please ensure that you have uploaded a zip file containing all necessary files/folder including theme's CSS file. You can download the theme from your vendor and try again.
